The Monk's Four Points to Power Programme: The Champion Wisdom Stage

THE WARRIOR

You are devoted to your skills. That is your nature. You hone and shape your abilities to run continuous balls when the opportunity arises. You work on this so that you can deliver your skills under so called pressure. You want to reach a point where there is no pressure. You are simply making the shot in front of you. There is nothing else, no key ball, no money ball and no trouble ball. You see the shot, know the stroke and shoot the shot. Your mind is never on anything other than the shot in front of you. This is who you are. You have become the path you are following. You are a pool player who has mastered this game and has mastered self. You are in a state where you have become 'one' with what you do both in practice, and in competition.

Meditate on who you are each day and that person will emerge to serve you when you need her. You must master the art of loving self. If you are training in this great game, you deserve to know you are special. Be one with who you are and be one with winning.

You must make every effort to draw the warrior out of you. Know your enemy as you know yourself. When the battle rages on, you must be a fighter. He who fights to the finish will develop the skills that enable him to take his rightful place in the winners' circle. Play the cards that are dealt to you and you will not be swept away by feelings of inferiority or experience that dreadful "I give up" feeling.

When it comes time to the fight, you must be ready. Winning is reserved for those who have paid their dues. Learn to fight as hard in the seventh round as you did in the first. Chances are if you are focused and ready to win, you will be facing an opponent who has not yet learned this fine art.

Do not give up. As a tough warrior you are ready to devour your opponent and leave nothing left for the vultures. Be known as one who shows no mercy. A merciful heart is not for the fierce warrior. It is your nature to destroy, for you are a warrior. A warrior does not play games. He takes the art of war seriously.

In all that you do, walking, sitting, playing pool, sitting in the chair, you must maintain your warrior like persona for at each moment, you are in battle, ready to turn in your best effort. You have now become the competitor you use to fear.
