The Monk's Four Points to Power Programme: The Champion Wisdom Stage

Do what you do!

The snake curls up on the banks of the pond. He wants to go across but does not want to get wet. He shouts over at a turtle and ask, "Can I ride across this pond on your back"? The turtle agrees to give the snake a ride. The Snake rides across the pond on the turtle's back, and the snake is amazed at the kindness of the turtle. "How come you were so quick to give me a ride?"

The turtle says, "snake it is my nature to be kind and give you a ride." As they get to the other side and walk out of the river, the snake bites the turtle, and as the turtle lay there breathing the labored breath of death, he says, "why snake? Why did you bite me?"

The snake says, "it is in my nature to bite."

Be aware of what you are doing at the moment and be free to do it. The Champions Wisdom stage is not the final stage in our development as a pool player. There are those few who go beyond The Champions Wisdom Stage and into the Spiritual Stage. The Spiritual Stage is the land of no thought.

It is good to know you can find world-class success simply by reaching the Champions Wisdom Stage in pocket billiards. Shooting shots in the awareness mode is to embrace the true art of pocket billiards. When you find your freedom you can enter the zone of dead stroke. You will begin to master each lesson at this level as skill development, not as a learning experience.

Your skill is all that matters in this wonderful level. The reason you go to your practice table is not to learn something, but to increase your skill level.

Here is the sheer beauty of this four-part lesson. I am proud of your efforts. I admire you for your willingness to face yourself and embrace the pain of personal change. God bless you. And thank you for taking this journey with me. I will look for you in the finals.

In order to reach this zone, you must be free of the first stage. You must come out of the Lonely Conflict Stage and let your instincts work for you. There can be no residual carryover from the first stage. You will be able to recognize those who are trapped in the first stage and perhaps you will recommend this program to them. You will carry a genuine concern for those who labor in the tyranny of the Lonely Conflict Stage. Don't take responsibility for those students however as they must pull themselves out with strong desire and determination and a willingness to change. This comes from deep inside of them and has nothing to do with you. All you can do is Point the Way and hope they journey towards the second and third and even the fourth stage.
